The group evolved from the local history group some ten years ago.
The Sid Vale has three population centres (Sidmouth, Sidbury and Salcombe Regis) which include nine burial sites and six other memorial locations including war memorials.
We record the memorial inscriptions, research the burials and the histories of the sites. Our database now includes some 14,000 names including family connections and we have a considerable amount of personal and local history details obtained from newspapers and the internet.
Completed works are deposited in the Devon Heritage Centre and with the Devon Family History Society "Tree House" in Exeter. We also respond to family and local history enquiries.
